Commission moves forward on climate and energy towards 2030

The Commission has started taking steps to define the European energy policy framework for 2030 to ensure proper investment to ensure that Europe has a sustainable growth. Europe has an ultimate goal of cutting emissions by 80-95% by 2050 and with the first milestone of 2020 getting closer it is clear that we have a long way to go. It has been reported that currently Europe has a growing dependence on foreign fossil fuels, which is seen in the rising price of energy bills around Europe. A building’s ’running costs’ of course will be a large focus for all of Europe in the upcoming years, from large multi-storey complex’s to single family households for new builds as well as renovation. With the increasing energy prices (with no immediate signs of dropping) and increased pressure form the Commission energy efficient products will become increasingly desirable to counter rising energy prices.
